MaxUpgrades ships adapter for 27-inch 2012 iMac, allows use of 2.5 SATA drives

Upgrade vendor MaxUpgrades has announced the availability of the SSD SATA module for iMac 2012 models, adapting the "blade" SSD slot to a normal SATA plug. The adapter and optional mount allows 2012 iMac users to use either a dual 2.5-inch SSD configuration, or a 2.5 SSD alongside the existing hard drive. The dual-SSD kit and bracket retails for $120. The package for a single 2.5-inch drive sells for $100.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD Mother's Day special cuts $20 off tablet

In an effort to partially counter the Barnes and Noble Nook tablet sale, Amazon has reduced prices on some of its Kindle Fire tablets as part of a Mother's Day promotion. Until May 12, Amazon has cut the price of the seven-inch Kindle Fire HD to $179 for the 16GB version, and $209 for the 32GB model with the use of the code "FIRE4MOM" entered at checkout.
