Suspected entry-level BB10 device retains Q10 screen, appearance
BlackBerry could be preparing an alternative to its strong-selling Q10 to add to its BlackBerry OS 10-compatible range. Images and leaked specifications suggest that the phone maker is creating another QWERTY keyboard-based smartphone dubbed the R10, one that has appeared in both black and red-colored casings.
The red version, spotted by CrackBerry and now removed from Instagram, and the black variant, shown by BBIN.in, is relatively similar to the Q10, in physical appearances at least. Specifications that have also surfaced claim it has the same 2GB of RAM and 3.1-inch 720x720 display as the Q10, but the R10 has a five-megapixel rear camera, 8GB of storage and a lower-capacity 1800mAh non-removable battery.
It is possible that the R10 is more of an entry-level device compared to the Q10 and Z10, considering its lesser specifications. Some reports suggest it will be revealed in the third quarter of this year.
