OLED phone to be assembled in Fort Worth, TX

Motorola Mobile has confirmed rumors of a new phone in the works. Speaking at D11, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside named the phone the Moto X, confirming earlier rumors. The new device will boast an OLED screen, and be assembled in a Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing plant, with worldwide sourced parts.

Woodside claimed to have the phone in his pocket on stage during the conference but declined to show it to interviewers Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. Details of the new phone are mostly unavailable, but Woodside claimed that breakability and battery life were paramount considerations while designing the device.

The device is part of a relaunch of Motorola Mobile's entire product line, according to Woodside "we know when it's in your pocket, we know when it's in your hand, it's going to know when you want to take a picture and fire up the cameras" and be more contextually aware of the situation the user is in. The new phone is due in October.
