Free 2014 Evolution Kit voucher, cycling fitness app included
Samsung has revealed the prices and more release details for its 55-inch and 65-inch UHD TVs in South Korea. The manufacturer will be opening up its two 4K-capable HDTVs for pre-order between June 1st and June 30th through department stores, with shipments to customers expected to start shortly after the pre-order period ends.
A press release picked up by Engadget states that the 65-inch model of the F9000 series of devices will sell for 8.9 million won ($7,900), while the 55-inch will go for 6.4 million won ($5,700). While this is a considerable drop from the $38,000 price tag of the 85-inch S9, it is still more than the $5,000 and $7,000 prices Sony set for similarly-sized UHD TVs in the United States.
Customers who pre-order the high-resolution televisions will receive a voucher for an Evolution Kit, which will upgrade the smart TV functions in 2014, and also a fitness app revolving around cycling.
A US release date for the UHDTVs is still unknown.
