Haswell fourth-generation Intel Core processors on new computers

In addition to enhancing existing consumer product lines, Dell announced a trio of new products at the Computex in Taiwan. New to Dell are the OptiPlex 9020 line, including an all-in-one -- the 21.5-inch S2240T with touchscreen monitor. Also announced was the Latitude E6540 laptop. Both computer lines are equipped with the new Intel Haswell fourth generation Core processor, and will be available later this summer.

The OptiPlex 9020 is a Haswell-based Intel vPro enabled and is Dell's most powerful commercial desktop to date. It is available in four form factors, including a versatile, compact all-in-one. Additionally, the new OptiPlex 9020 can be cloud enabled with the Dell Cloud Desktop feature, a new fully incorporated desktop and application virtualization technology powered by Dell Wyse WSM. With Dell Cloud Desktops configured to be stateless and diskless, the capabilities of the OptiPlex 9020 can be shared to a number of virtual users in a secure environment with centralized management and storage, while delivering the same performance and function of a traditional desktop with an OS.

Compatible with the OptiPlex 9020 and Windows 8 is Dell's new 21.5-inch Touch Monitor S2240T. The 10-point Dell 21.5-inch Touch Monitor also offers a versatile stand design -- users can slide and tilt the monitor to touch and type, mount it on the wall or attach it to the Dell Single Monitor Arm.

Also bolstering the professional lineup is the new Haswell-equipped Latitude E6540. The E6540 features a IPS 140-2 certified TPM and Dell Data Protection that includes comprehensive file-level encryption, advanced authentication and leading-edge malware protection to guard data. Pricing and specific release dates of the OptiPlex 9020 line, the S2240T display, and the Latitude E6540 are not currently available.
