Yahoo redesigns search page, improves loading times

Yahoo has redesigned its search page with a more streamlined appearance. The update, which will roll out to US-based users today, uses a much flatter design than before, pushes the search results higher up the page, and also introduces a navigation bar to other Yahoo services at the top. Aside from changing the design to something that seemingly borrows from the Google design playbook, the Yahoo blog claims that some behind-the-scenes work has also led to improved loading times for results.

Tweetdeck for web, Chrome UI redesigned, new side navigation bar

Twitter client Tweetdeck has updated its user interface. Both the web and Chrome versions of the client now have an expandable navigation bar on the left hand side, which houses most of the main commands and settings for the app. The new post button has relocated to the top of the navigation bar, above a reworked search box and a list of all columns in the Tweetdeck account, the latter of which can be used to reorder the columns themselves.
