Rebranded Optimus L3, Lucid hits contract-free roster

Verizon has introduced a pair of LG Optimus smartphones, in order to bolster its prepaid roster. The Optimus Zone, a rebranded version of the Optimus L3, and the Optimus Exceed are both on the budget end of the device spectrum, with both devices appearing on Verizon's website for a brief period before being removed from sight.

The Optimus Zone has a single-core 800MHz processor with 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of expandable storage, according to Unwired View. It also has a 3.2-inch QVGA display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and a 1,540mAh battery.

Originally branded the Lucid last year, the Optimus Exceed uses Android 4.0 instead of the Zone's Android 2.3. It has a 4-inch WVGA display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera.

The Optimus Zone will be selling for $80 off-contract, while the Optimus Exceed will cost $130.
