83 percent of respondents view Google favorably
Google is the most-liked technology firm in America, according to a new poll. The search giant showed a sizable favorability margin over both the iPhone maker and the world's largest social network, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll. More than eight in ten respondents indicated a favorable view of the search company.
Google's 83 percent favorability figure was 11 points higher than Apple's 72 percent rating. Facebook lagged far behind with a 60 percent favorability rating.
The search company tested well across all age and ethnic groups. The only group it did comparatively badly with was users over the age of 65, who gave Google a 64 percent favorable rating.
The poll also saw Apple's favorability rating with users under the age of 30 dropping significantly from the year previous. Whereas Apple had an 81 percent favorability rating with the under-30 crowd in 2012, 71 percent had a favorable rating of the iPhone maker this year.
The survey, conducted from May 29 to June 2, was based on a random national sample of 1,007 adults.
