Windows Phone, Android smartphones could be priced under $100 on-contract

Two more phones destined for Sprint have been revealed in separate FTC filings. The HTC Tiara with Windows Phone 8 and the ZTE Vital appear in filings with LTE connectivity for Sprint's network, suggesting that the two devices will receive some form of official announcement from the carrier in the coming months.

Already appearing in the device logs of a Chinese app developer, the HTC Tiara will have a 4.3-inch WVGA Super LCD2 display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and both 8-megapixel rear-facing and 1.6-megapixel front-facing cameras, according to previously leaked details. Unwired View suggests that it could go on sale for less than $100 on-contract.

The ZTE Vital, previously going by the name of the ZTE Quantum, is an Android-based handset running Jelly Bean. Using a five-inch 1280x720 display, it has a 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, NFC, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Supplied with a 2,500mAh battery, it could be sold for under $100 again.
