FCC tests Asus Pad K009, reveals Nexus branding, 5MP camera, LTE

Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, 32GB storage also detailed

An Asus tablet that could be the successor to the Nexus 7 has appeared at the FCC, matching previous rumors. A device by the name of "ASUS Pad" with the model number K009 appeared in a filing, and according to details listed in the Commission's paperwork, would include LTE connectivity as well as a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera.

Though it is possibly the next version of the Nexus 7, one drawing for illustrating where the FCC labeling seems to suggest that it will be a naturally-landscape tablet rather than the typical portrait orientation used by other tablets, reports Tablets Magazine. It also appears to have just a single small Asus logo in the middle of the back casing, instead of either leaving space for the word "Nexus" to appear, though elsewhere Nexus is used as a "brand name."

Other specifications listed by the FCC includes the use of Qualcomm Wi-Fi and cellular radios, a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera to join the rear version, and a Qualcomm APQ-8064 processor, namely a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro.
