Firefox 22 supports 'high-intensity' JavaScript content, WebRTC calls

WebRTC toggled on by default

Mozilla has posted the public release of Firefox 22, an important update of its multi-platform web browser. The app incorporates a new JavaScript subset, asm.js, which Mozilla says should let developers create "high-intensity" web apps such as 3D games and photo editors without extra plugins. The update also by default enables WebRTC, a protocol that supports voice and video calls as well as filesharing.

The Mac edition will now show download progress in the Dock app icon, and the Windows app now follows display scaling options for rendering bigger text on high-resolution displays. HTML5 additions include the ability to change audio/video playback speed, and support for "data" and "time" tags.

Mozilla says it has also improved WebGL rendering speed, and implemented several tools for developers, including CSS3 Flexbox, a Web Notifications API, and a built-in font inspector.

...and apparently the comment system doesn't support the not equal to sign so... Java not equal to Javascript.
