New Samsung, HTC WP8 smartphones to use Sprint LTE network

Sprint has revealed it will be launching two Windows Phone 8 handsets with LTE connectivity on its network later this summer. The HTC 8XT and Samsung ATIV S Neo will both appear on the carrier, and will be offered alongside Sprint's 'Truly Unlimited' plan, which allows for unlimited use of 4G LTE data without worry of excess charging.

The HTC 8XT has a 4.3-inch WVGA display powered by a dual-core Snapdragon processor running at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM. An 8-megapixel camera on the rear, a 1.6MP version on the front, 8GB of storage, Beats Audio, and a 1,800mAh battery are also included in the device, which will cost $100 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.

In comparison, the Samsung ATIV S Neo has a larger 4.8-inch 720p screen, 16GB of storage, NFC, and a 2,000mAh battery. The remaining specifications mirror the HTC 8XT, namely using a dual-core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, microSD expansion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and using Windows Phone 8, and though it will still have an 8-megapixel rear camera, the front-facing camera is bumped up to 1.9 megapixels. Sprint will offer it at $150 on a two-year commitment, also with a $50 rebate.
