New Droid Maxx has similar look to last year's models
The next generation of Motorola's Droid Maxx Verizon exclusive line has shown up in images online. The new images, leaked by @evleaks show off a device that retains much of the aesthetic of the previous generation, with Kevlar and aluminum looking to be the main build components. The leak showed only an image of the device, but it is expected to see release some time later this year.
The Droid brand is particular to Verizon, not Motorola, though the manufacturer has made a number of devices under the label. The predecessor to the device debuted last year at an event in New York, alongside the Droid Razr M and the Droid Razr HD.
The Droid Maxx, in addition to its name change, will likely have a large focus on battery life, which Motorola made sure to tout when revealing last year's models.
The Droid brand is not to be confused with the Moto X, which is Motorola's forthcoming flagship device. That handset, set to see release in the next month or so, will be on Verizon as well as other carriers, but not under the Droid brand.
