Massive simultaneous update drives client improvements
Twitter on Monday rolled out a simultaneous update to searching on Android, iPhone, iPad and the social network's mobile website. Searching people will now show a full bio, making it easier and faster to find out more about the searched individuals. Additionally, all platforms will now sync direct messages. Other improvements have been rolled out to individual apps, including tweet composition and interaction display.
The people search example given by Twitter assumes a user search of "MLB." Search results will now display similar results, including ESPN broadcaster Ken Rosenthal (with his bio), and other MLB-related accounts. A new in-app indicator in search results displays when there are new tweets related to the query.
The iPhone Twitter app is now "consistent with our Android app" according to Twitter. The new tweet composer makes it easier to find accounts to follow with a "new people" button on the navigation bar.
