Screenshot allegedly shows Toshiba AT7-A running Android 4.2.2

Toshiba may be making a new tablet running on Android Jelly Bean, one that is in a smaller form factor than the 10-inch models launched last month, according to a report. Benchmarks said to be for the Toshiba AT7-A appear to show it as running on version 4.2.2 of the mobile operating system, as well as revealing other alleged specifications for the seven-inch tablet.

Sources of Notebook Italia sent a screenshot for the benchmark showing the model and Android version. It is also claimed that it will have a 1024x600-resolution display, with its internals based around ARM Mali-400 graphics and a 1.6GHz processor, with the report suggesting that the benchmark results are in line with either a dual or quad-core processor. No details relating to appearance, pricing, nor a possible release period were provided.

The recent launch of 10-inch Excite tablets used Tegra 3 and Tegra 4 chips, with the Excite Write model providing pen support using a Wacom digitizer, as well as a 2560x1600-resolution display.
