Griffin PowerDock 5 launched, charges five USB devices at once

updated 06:42 pm EDT, Tue July 16, 2013

Each device receives 10W of power for charging from one AC source

Accessory manufacturer Griffin Technology has launched the PowerDock 5. The new device is built to safely charge and store up to five iPads, iPhones, iPods, or other USB cable chargeable devices at the same time, from a single power source.

PowerDock 5 contains five charging bays, each boasting 10 watts of power and a clear backrest, large enough to accommodate an iPad without the need to remove even the largest of cases, including ruggedized or child-friendly enclosures. Original device charging cables are used with the base, to allow for a mix of devices.

The PowerDock 5 retails for $100 and is now available at the Griffin online store. Retail availability is expected later this summer.
