HTC One users to get another colour choice, Mini+ handset appears
The HTC One is set to make an appearance in a blue hue following a leak from the reliable @evleaks. The device is currently available in black and white versions in North America, while a red version has also made its way to some markets. The new blue model is thought to be a carrier-specific model, with with Verizon hinting that it will be a candidate for its network. Despite the paintwork, all the models continue with HTC's aluminum finish, although the blue model uses the same black polycarbonate components as the black model making for a striking finish.
In another HTC-related development, the HTC Mini+ diminutive Bluetooth handset has made an appearance at a UK retailer. The device was originally shown as an accessory for the Japan-only 5-inch HTC Butterfly, however, with the continued trend to ever larger-screened handsets, the concept of a 'phone for your phone' seems to be gaining some traction. Sony's recently revealed Xperia Z Ultra, which centers on a massive (for a smartphone) 6.4-inch display, was also joined on its release by a similar Bluetooth handset companion that can be purchased separately.
In the case of the HTC Mini+ it can also be used as a multimedia remote over infrared, and can be used to control both a TV or HTC's Media Link HD. It's built-in display can also show incoming caller Ids and other information including calendar appointments. The device can also be used to remotely trigger a camera shutter while it quickly and easily pairs with Bluetooth devices over a one-touch NFC connection. It is up for pre-order for the equivalent of $100 with UK retailer Clove.
