Update for XBMC on Android adds AirPlay capability, improved CD ripping

XBMC on Android has been updated to include support for Zeroconf, effectively allowing it to be used for AirPlay. The update to the media player software also includes the ability to rip CD audio directly to the music library, ripping support for WMA and AAC encoding, the option to lock settings on a profile, and new descriptions for the settings menus.

Vodafone launching 4G LTE service in UK on August 29th

Vodafone has revealed that it will be launching its 4G network in the United Kingdom, on the same day as O2. The carrier will initially provide LTE service in London from August 29th, followed by 12 more areas before the end of the year, writes The Next Web. Customers of the carrier on its Red contract will need to pay 5 ($7.76) per month to gain 4G network access through an LTE-ready access.
