New version of tablet expected to be available at large range of retailers

According to reports from Asus, the new model of Google's Nexus 7 will launch in the UK on August 28. The launch is one month after the US launch, and will be available at a wide array of retailers other than just the Google Play store as has been the case for previous product launches.

The second-generation Nexus integrates a 1920x1200 panel, representing a significant upgrade over the 1280x800 display of its predecessor. The new model pairs a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon Krait processor with 2GB of RAM.

Mobile enthusiast website Pocket-lint is expecting the Nexus 7 to cost £199.99 ($311 US) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and £239.99 ($373.22) for the 32GB Wi-Fi version.
