Giveaway: Logitech Eye Candy Color Collection and M325 review

updated 06:19 pm EDT, Thu August 15, 2013

Win one of four Logitech mice from the Eye Candy Color Collection

Earlier this year, Logitech introduced the Eye Candy Color Collection -- featuring a selection of mice jazzed up with trendy colors and eye-catching patterns. Both the Logitech M325 and Zone Touch T400 mice received this special treatment, and we have two of each to give away to our readers. We also reviewed a M325 wireless mouse decked out with the Fusion Party design to offer our own insight into this recent update to the Logitech lineup.

Logitech's M325 is a lightweight, compact, well-built mouse with a fast, responsive scroll wheel and smooth, precise optical tracking. The mouse is made with a glossy plastic that somehow manages to keep smudging to a minimum, and a contoured rubber grip wraps around the sides of the mouse for comfort and traction. Its overall minimal design is well-suited for travel, and the contoured shape is comfortable on the palm. It does seem, however, that it might be a better match to smaller hands.

The micro-precise scroll wheel is designed to make life on the web easier. It is possible to designate the scroll wheel as a middle button, zoom, application switch and more. Scrolling isn't the only thing this scroll wheel can do, it can also page forward or back by tilting the wheel left or right, and open links in a new tab with a click. Unfortunately only the basic functions work for OS X users, the other controls are only accessible via the Logitech Control Center for Windows.

Included with the mouse is Logitech's Unifying Receiver that plugs into a USB port and makes connecting the mouse quick and painless with no additional setup required. The receiver can be tucked away in the battery compartment when not in use. Also included is a single AA battery, which Logitech claims will last up to 18 months.

This mouse retails for $30 and is available in red, purple, blue, or pink as well as a variety of cool designs and patterns.

The Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 combines traditional mouse functions with a touch zone that integrates swiping motions. This mouse was designed with Windows 8 in mind, and features Windows 8 navigation controls with horizontal and vertical scrolling, as well as a dedicated Windows 8 Start screen command that is activated by clicking the top 2/3 of the touch zone. Rubber grips wrap around the exterior of the mouse for comfort. This mouse also boasts up to 18 months of battery life and connects to the Logitech Unifying Receiver. It retails for $40 and is available in a variety of colors and designs.
