Netflix rolls out 'My List' queues with automatic sorting

updated 10:51 am EDT, Wed August 21, 2013

Feature expected to go global during next two weeks

Starting today, Netflix is rolling out a new feature dubbed "My List," according to an official blog post. The feature -- due to deploy globally over the next two weeks -- is similar to the current Instant Queue for the US, but with the addition of automatic sorting, which bumps videos to the top based on predictions about what a user will want to watch. People can revert to manual sorting by going to a My List Management menu under My Account.

Netflix is also promising to carry tagging across all regions. This includes badges for TV shows with new seasons, as well as ones for videos about to expire. The company adds that while tagging is so far only viewable at its website, it should be visible on "more devices" in the next few months.

My List will initially appear at the top of a person's Netflix page. If they choose not to use it, it will gradually drop down lower, allowing other categories to take its place.
