New growth expands into portions of 26 states
AT&T plans to roll out 4G LTE in at least 50 additional markets by the end of this year. AT&T 4G LTE currently covers more than 225 million people and 370 markets; with this expansion by the end of 2013, coverage is expected to expand to nearly 270 million people and more than 400 markets.

AT&T's 4G LTE deployment is part of AT&T's Project Velocity IP (VIP), a three-year investment plan announced last fall to expand and enhance its IP broadband networks. As part of Project VIP, AT&T plans to add more than 10,000 micro cell sites nationwide by year-end 2015, as well as deploy more than 40,000 small cells and add more than 1,000 Distributed Antenna Systems to increase the density of its wireless network.
