Apple downplays upcoming competition
Apple has updated Siri with a number of jabs at Google Glass, users note. Most commands for the Glass headset are issued through voice, and prefaced by saying "Okay Glass." Using that phrase in Siri, though, will now trigger one of several jokes about the device.
iOS 6 users can see some of the responses, but the full range can only be heard in iOS 7. Some sample quotes includes ones like "Stop trying to strap me to your forehead. It won't work," "I think that Glass is half empty," "I'm not Glass. And I'm just fine with that," or "Glass? I think you've got the wrong assistant."
Apple and Google have become increasingly embittered towards each other since Google decided to launch its own mobile platform, Android, and a host of rival services, such as the Siri-like Google Now. Apple may also be taking on Glass directly in the near future via its rumored iWatch. Although their functions aren't completely similar, both products are wearable electronics designed to keep technology as unobtrusive as possible.
