External battery for mobile devices identifies type of device

Anker has announced the release of its second-generation Astro2 external battery. A high-capacity 9000mAh battery, the Astro2 is able to charge two mobile devices simultaneously. The charger has no buttons, and instead requires a brief shake to activate the battery and LED power indicator. Available for $45, the Astro2 can be purchased at Amazon.

iUSBport the smallest offering from Hyper

Sanho Corporation announced today that its award-winning line of portable power and storage products, Hyper, is receiving a new addition. The iUSBport Mini connects to any USB storage device, including hard drives and flash drives, and wirelessly makes the contents accessible to iOS, Android, or other Wi-Fi enabled devices. Including a built-in MicroSDXC slot and USB host port, the iUSBport Mini has a built-in wireless router that can create its own wireless network to share USB/MicroSDXC data with nearby devices. The iUSBport Mini can hold up to a seven-hour charge. Available for purchase online, the device is currently priced at $90.
