Nokia tablets leaks out with Verizon 4G LTE branding, thin design

The Nokia 1520 codenamed 'Bandit' has been given its first photo leak ahead of its expected availability in the US this November. The device in the photo appears to carry the same 6-inch front glass panel with Nokia branding that leaked out of a Chinese factory in late July. When it arrives, it will be the first Windows Phone 8 device with a display greater than 5-inches, and will be one of the first with a 1080p display.

As a point of comparison in the photo, the 6-inch Lumia 1520 is pictured next to a Lumia 1020 with a 4.5-inch display, dwarfing it. The Lumia 1520 pictured also appears to be sitting in a custom fit Nokia case, that is likely in place to help keep it disguised while getting tested in public for AT&T's network. Interestingly, the case also looks similar to the Apple iPad SmartCover that folds and can also be used as a stand for the device.

Although very large, the Lumia 1520 will find itself in around the middle ground in the burgeoning 'phablet' segment. The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to center on a 5.7-inch display one end of the spectrum, while the Sony Xperia Z Ultra sits at the other end with its massive 6.4-inch display. Like the Xperia Z Ultra, and possibly the Galaxy Note 3 in at least one guise, the Lumia 1520 is also expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at around 2.2GHz.
