Here Auto Cloud heads to Frankfurt auto show
Nokia has previewed several new cloud-based "connected driving" features that will be added to the company's Here Auto platform for vehicles. Here Auto Cloud will provide drivers with real-time information such as traffic updates, construction locations and road closures, along with additional content ranging from restaurant recommendations to gas station pricing and charge station locations.
The company is currently promoting its wider Here Auto products and services, centered around the embedded in-car navigation experience. The system supports turn-by-turn navigation in 95 countries, with access to 3D views, satellite overlays and street-level imagery.
Companion apps, available for Android and Windows Phone or via web browsers, provide an additional level of integration, enabling favorite locations and routes to be synchronized between devices and vehicles. While away from the car, users can take advantage of walking navigation, indoor maps and public transit routes, or check car stats such as fuel levels and inside/outside temperatures.
Nokia plans to fully unveil the new Here Auto system at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10.
