Faster console revealed by head of Xbox marketing at conference

According to Xbox chief marketing officer Yusuf Mehdi, the production Xbox One units will have not just a boosted graphic processing unit (GPU) frequency, but a faster CPU as well. The new console, now in "full production" boasts a 1.75GHz eight-core CPU, versus the previously announced 1.6Ghz.

Speaking at the Citi Global Technology Summit, the executive claimed that the new console will see "the biggest launch we've ever done by a wide margin in terms of units shipped at launch." Both the original Xbox and Xbox 360 launches were marred by deeply inadequate stock levels at launch, rectified several months afterwards.
