Xbox One production models see eight-core CPU speed boost to 1.75Ghz

Faster console revealed by head of Xbox marketing at conference

According to Xbox chief marketing officer Yusuf Mehdi, the production Xbox One units will have not just a boosted graphic processing unit (GPU) frequency, but a faster CPU as well. The new console, now in "full production" boasts a 1.75GHz eight-core CPU, versus the previously announced 1.6Ghz.

Speaking at the Citi Global Technology Summit, the executive claimed that the new console will see "the biggest launch we've ever done by a wide margin in terms of units shipped at launch." Both the original Xbox and Xbox 360 launches were marred by deeply inadequate stock levels at launch, rectified several months afterwards.
