Logitech launches folios for Galaxy Tab 3 lineup, HTC outs BoomBass
Logitech has introduced a new range of folios for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 range. Currently, the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio is only available for the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 though the Folio Protective Cases are available for the 10.1, 8, and 7 variants. Both folios utilize Logitech's water repellant materials, and give Galaxy Tab 3 devices protection for both the front and rear, while also offering auto on and off functions when the case is opened.
The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio ($100) (currently up for pre-order) incorporates a unique layout that includes Android shortcut keys for copy, paste and undo functions. It can also be positioned in to two positions, either upright for productivity or laying flat for viewing movies, gaming or surfing the net. Its built-in rechargeable battery is good for months of use at a time off a full charge based on two hours of use everyday. The regular Folio Protective Case ($50) (available now) drops the keyboard, but retains Logitech's new SecureLock system that uses magnets to keep the folio firmly fastened when on the go.
In addition to announcing two new Desire smartphones today, HTC also introduced its new BoomBass Bluetooth speaker. Unlike typical Bluetooth speakers, the BoomBass speaker adds just a small subwoofer to supplement the audio from a smartphone. Although compatible with any smartphone, HTC says that they work particularly well with any of its smartphones that feature the company's BoomSound dual stereo front facing speakers. The BoomBass will go on sale in mid-October with pricing to be announced.
