Alcatel aims for the youth market with One Touch Pop C-series
Alcatel has continued with its hectic pace of smartphone announcements at IFA Berlin with the launch of its new One Touch Pop C-series
entry-level to mid-range smartphones. In total, the new Pop C-series adds another four devices to its burgeoning portfolio with screen sizes ranging from 3.5-inches through to 5-inches. The new Pop C1, C3, C5 and C7 all run Android 4.2 and also come in a variety of colors designed to appeal to younger users.
The Pop C1 centers on a 3.5-inch display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and comes preloaded with a range of apps to entertain users right out of the box. It is available in colors including hot pink and neon green. The Pop C3 increases the screen size to 4-inches and is powered by a faster 1.3GHz dual-core chip with better multitasking performance. It is also offered with a colorful protective flip case.
Stepping it up a notch, the Pop C5 incorporates a 4.5-inch display, but is designed to be able to still fit in the palm of a user's hand. It uses the same chip as the Pop C3, but boosts its camera from 3.2-megapixels to 5-megapixels that also offers a panorama function. The larger Pop C7 ramps things up to a 5-inch display and a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.
The Pop C1 and C3 will ship in October, while the Pop C5 ships in November, with the Pop C7 following before the end of the year.
