Harman Kardon launches new headphones, portable speaker
Harman Kardon has introduced its new Soho folding headphones and a new portable wireless speaker system dubbed the Onyx. The new headphones offer its most compact on-ear design yet, and come in three colors, white, black and camel. The new Onyx portable wireless speaker system incorporates a built-in battery, but still delivers 60W of power through four matched speakers. As with the rest of Harman Kardon's lineup, the new products are aimed at audiophiles.
The Soho headphones continue with Harman Kardon's current oblong design them and utilize high-quality materials including genuine stitched leather and a stainless steel frame. The Soho's incorporate 30mm drivers with a choice of cables that include an inline remote compatible with either iOS or Android devices. They are retailing for $199, which includes an ultra-slim carry case.
The new Onyx portable wireless speaker system offers a wide range of connectivity options including Bluetooth, AirPlay, DLNA, and stereo AUX-in. The sculpted enclosure includes real leather and stainless steel in its construction, while its battery is good for up to six hours use on a charge. Its four speakers incorporate dual aluminum passive radiators with a frequency range of 55Hz to 20kHz, and digital signal processing for enhancing sound. It is also accompanied by an iOS and Android app that allows users to control the device in any room in a house. It is retailing for $499.
