Sony rolls out new, water resistant, Bluetooth Wireless Speaker

Sony has started shipping its new Splash-Proof Bluetooth Wireless Speaker (SRS-BTS50). As with a number of its 2013 consumer electronics products, the new speaker is both water resistant and includes NFC for fast one-touch connectivity over Bluetooth. Users can also quickly disconnect with another touch of the paired device's NFC logos when they are ready to get going.

The new speaker comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that is good for up to 10 hours on the go. The SRS-BTS50 can also be used to take advantage of hands-free calling via the built-in speakerphone, while rotating the speaker so that it can be laid flat on any surface automatically puts the device into Surround Mode. It also includes a voice feedback function that provides prompts to help users when interacting with the device.

The Sony Splash-Proof Bluetooth Wireless Speaker is available in five colors and is retailing for $130.
