Wacom intros Bamboo Pad touchpad, second-generation Bamboo styli

Touchpad supports gestures or stylus input

Wacom has introduced the Bamboo Pad touchpad, along with a new line of Bamboo styli. The pad doubles as a traditional touchpad, capable of registering gestures such as pinch-to-zoom and two-finger scroll, or a graphics tablet when used in conjunction with the included pressure-sensitive digital stylus.

The Bamboo Stylus solo is designed for touchscreen devices such as the iPad, with a slimmer 5mm rubber nib for additional precision when writing or sketching. The new version adds a polished aluminum cap that protects the nib when the stylus is not in use.

The Bamboo Stylus duo integrates the same rubber nib as the solo variant, however a traditional ball-point pen has been placed on the opposite end for writing on paper. Like the solo, the duo is available in a range of bright anodized colors or traditional black and white.

The Bamboo Pad wireless should be available later this month for $79, or in a USB-connected edition for $49. The Bamboo Stylus solo carries a $19 price tag and ships in October, while the duo will be available for $29 around the same time.
