Multi-colored iPhone still set to ship on September 20th
Pre-orders have commenced for the multi-colored iPhone 5c through Apple's online store, with the four major US carriers also offering it at the same time. AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile are all selling the new smartphone, with customers in ten other countries also able to pre-order the iPhone 5c before its September 20th shipping date.
The iPhone 5c is priced at $99 for the 16GB model and $199 for the 32GB when bought on a two-year wireless service plan, both from Apple's store directly and via AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. The unlocked and contract-free version costs $549 and $649 for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively, though T-Mobile also offers the 16GB device under its monthly payment plan for no up-front cost and 24 payments of $22, or alternatively the 32GB version for $99 up-front and $22.91 for 24 months.
Yesterday, RadioShack revealed it is accepting iPhone trade-ins towards the cost of a new iPhone, as well as other contract phone brands, offering up to $250 in credit. Walmart stores will be selling the iPhone 5s at a discount, charging $79 for the 16GB 5c on a two-year contract, though this will require visiting a store to sign up.
The iPhone 5s, announced at the same time as the 5c, will also ship on September 20th, but will not be available to pre-order.
