Sprint offers $100 off phones for switchers from other carriers

updated 11:45 am EDT, Mon September 16, 2013

Carrier adopts aggressive recruitment stance

Sprint has introduced a special $100 discount for people buying phones and porting their number over from a rival network. The deal will also apply to Apple's new iPhones, coming September 20th. A 16GB iPhone 5c will be free on contract, and a 16GB 5s just $99. The iPhone 4S will also be an option, but free, like the technically superior 5c.

Also launching on the 20th is Sprint's One Up upgrade program, which gives the option of paying for the unsubsidized cost of a new phone on a monthly basis, much like T-Mobile. The $100 discount, though, is a limited deal, set to expire October 10th.
