Two Canadian carriers added as well; stocks still in short supply
At least nine US regional carriers will start selling the iPhone 5s and 5c on October 1, according to announcements. The list so far includes Appalachian Wireless, Bluegrass Cellular, C Spire, Cellcom, GCI, MTA, Nex-Tech Wireless, Ntelos, and Strata. Some other carriers have stated that the new iPhones are "coming soon," which could imply launches as soon as the 1st. In addition to the US carriers, Canadian regional providers SaskTel and MTS are also part of the October 1 rollout.
The 5s and 5c launched in several countries on September 20, but in the US has so far only reached the four major national carriers: AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. It remains to be seen how Apple will satisfy demand at regionals. While 5c stocks are fairly plentiful, the 5s is scarce, selling out at retail and only listed as shipping in "October" at Apple's online store. Apple tends to prioritize first-party sales, then national carriers, and finally regionals and resellers.
