DVX shares physical styling to Moto X, loses LTE, NFC
Motorola could be working on a low-cost version of its Moto X flagship smartphone, according to filings at the FCC. Images in the filing, submitted to show how the smartphone is set-up for testing, gives an almost complete front and back shot of what is believed to be the Motorola DVX, with only a few minor stickers placed on the rear.
While the photographs spotted on Reddit certainly show a device with a striking similarity to the Moto X itself, there are a few slight visible differences. The speaker grille and the front camera differ from the original, as well as a seemingly-wider earpiece. GSM and WCDMA appear in the accompanying report, though there does not appear to be LTE nor NFC in the device.
The DVX name stems from a photograph of a Republic Wireless meeting. A presentation side appearing in the photo is said by Android Police to mention the DVX and a release for sometime in October.
