Google releases redesigned Chrome 30 with new tab page

Rollout affects desktop platforms, Android

As expected, Google has begun rolling out Chrome 30 to desktop platforms and Android. The major update brings several redesigned elements, including a different new-tab page that includes the Google search bar above the grid of frequently visited sites. Desktop users can also right click on an image and quickly use it for an image search.

Android users will be able to take advantage of new gestures, such as horizontal swipe across the top toolbar to switch tabs or vertical drag to enter the tab switcher view. The update also enables users to drag down from the menu to open the menu and select the desired item without lifting the finger.

Chrome 30 will be arriving automatically for desktop devices and Android throughout the next few days.
