Latest devices to ship this month
Archos has fully detailed its latest tablets that will be arriving later this month, including the 80b Platinum, 97b Platinum HD and 101 Platinum. All three Android tablets will be powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor running at 1.6GHz, with up to 2GB of RAM and IPS displays ranging from 8.0 to 10.1 inches.
The Archos 80b Platinum is the smallest model in the family, integrating an eight-inch display with 1024x768 resolution. With 1GB of RAM, the device makes a memory tradeoff compared to its larger counterparts, though all three offer 8GB of storage and microSD slots for expansion.
The Archos 97b Platinum steps up to a 9.7-inch display with 2048x1536 resolution, essentially matching the iPad 3 and iPad 4 in terms of screen size and pixel density. The Archos 101 Platinum features a slightly larger 10.1-inch display, however at a lower resolution of 1280x800 pixels.
The company appears to be maintaining an aggressive pricing strategy, starting at $200 for the 80b and jumping to $270 and $300 for the 101 and 97b, respectively.
