Speaker competes with Bose Wave, Sonos systems
Samsung has introduced the Shape M7, a wireless speaker that can be used alone or synced with other M7s placed throughout a home. The system integrates a single subwoofer alongside stereo silk-done tweeters and two midrange speakers, built from a combination of carbon nanotubes and paper.
The speaker is said to be geared for streaming music services such as Amazon Cloud Player, Pandora, Rhapsody and TuneIn, among others, according to a report from The Verge.
Mimicking the functionality of Sonos' Bridge system, the Shape M7 is also marketed as a multi-room audio product when used in conjunction with Samsung's Hub adapter. Multiple speakers can then be managed from a mobile app.
The M7 is expected to ship on October 13 for $400.
