Events in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan lined up for large HTC smartphone
HTC will be launching its enlarged One Max sometime next week, according to invitations to regional events. The flyer for the event states "One finger opens up a big view, you are invited to immerse in the sound with us," suggesting not only the BoomSound front stereo speakers usually associated with the One, but also its rumored fingerprint scanner.
The invitation received by Engadget states that the launch will be held in Taiwan at 6pm local time on October 18th, but a similar one received from HTC Hong Kong advises that it will be launching on October 16th. A claim by eprice that the global launch will occur in China on October 15th corroborates earlier rumors of a launch on that date. A firmer launch date won't be known until similar invitations from HTC's US and European offices surface.
Based on earlier rumors, the HTC One Max is said to have a 5.9-inch display with a 1080p display, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 3,300mAh battery, and is heading to Verizon.
