LG Nexus 5 to keep $299 entry price, despite major upgrades?

updated 11:44 am EDT, Tue October 8, 2013

Nexus rumors continue to swirl

Adding to a regular flow of leaks and rumors, a source claims that the LG Nexus 5 smartphone will retain its $299 entry price despite a list of major upgrades over the Nexus 4. PhoneArena has also been told that the available configurations will have two different battery capacities, allegedly pairing a 2300mAh component with the 16GB edition and a larger 3000mAh cell with the 32GB variant.

Several leaks have agreed that the device will likely integrate 4.95-inch IPS display with 1920x1080 resolution, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, and 2GB of RAM. The details have been corroborated by a leaked service manual, which was pulled at LG's request and therefore appears to be authentic.

The Nexus 5 is expected to be formally introduced at a media event sometime this month, though official launch details have yet to be confirmed.
