S5 said to be rushed to market
Several Samsung leaks have pointed to alleged launch details for the company's current Galaxy S4 Mini handset and next-generation S5 flagship. Amid reports claiming Galaxy S4 sales have failed to meet internal goals, a report from the Korean site Naver suggests the Galaxy S5 is being hurried onto the market with an anticipated unveiling as early as January.
The Korean report, which was spotted by CNET UK, corroborates earlier rumors pointing to a 64-bit octa-core processor and a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. Other recent leaks suggest the S5 may also feature an aluminum housing rather than the plastic build common across the current Galaxy lineup.
Aside from the S5, a tweet posted by EVLeaks and referenced by Unwired View appears to show press images of the S4 Mini in a bold pink color with AT&T badging, and in black and white editions for Sprint.
The S5 leak points to March or April as a likely launch window, while the S4 Mini variants for AT&T and Sprint are expected in the next few months.
