Firmware leak believed to be final revision, due in coming weeks
The inbound Android version 4.3 update for Samsung smartphones has leaked, weeks ahead of its expected launch. The software upgrade for the Galaxy S 4 has surfaced on the Internet at the same time as news that the same update heading to the HTC One will be heading to T-Mobile users sometime over the next week.
The leaked test firmware is said by SamMobile to be one of the "final builds" of the software, with no further features to be added or removed, except for bug fixes. Report sources claim that the update, will be rolling out for the Galaxy S 4 within one to two weeks, though this will be impacted further by carriers making further modifications before passing it along to customers.
The report has made the Android 4.3 update available to download, though installing the unofficial firmware will apparently wipe the smartphone completely.
The same update for the HTC One will be appearing on T-Mobile in the US by "mid next week," according to HTC America president Jason Mackenzie via Twitter, spotted by Ubergizmo. This follows earlier and similar updates for the smartphone on Sprint and AT&T.
