Router has 10 amplifiers, five Gigabit Ethernet ports, easy configuration
Wi-Fi communication product maker Amped Wireless today announced the launch of the APA20 High Power 700 milliwatts (mW) Dual Band AC Access Point, an 802.11ac wireless access point designed to deliver long range wireless access for existing home and business networks.
The APA20 features three high-gain, 5dBi antennas and ten total high-power amplifiers. The amplifiers include two 2.4GHz 700mW amplifiers, four 5.0GHz 700mW, two-stage amplifiers, and four low-noise amplifiers.
The APA20 includes a USB 2.0 port for file sharing and five Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting to a broadband network and attaching additional wired devices. The new model includes an updated user interface, plus software features such as guest networks, adjustable Wi-Fi coverage control and user access control.
The APA20 has a retail price of $190, and is available for pre-order from the Amped Wireless store with shipments commencing October 29. Wider availability is expected in November.
