ATIV Book 9 Plus gains more RAM, SSD storage, retains monitor
Samsung has revealed an upgraded version of its high-resolution ATIV Book 9 Plus that it will be shipping in the near future. The new model ships with Windows 8.1, an Intel Core i7 processor instead of the Core i5 in the original, a maximum of 8Gb of RAM instead of 4GB, and also has a larger 256GB SSD storage compared to the 128GB SSD available at launch.
The rest of the notebook remains the same as the original, according to Ubergizmo. The 13.3-inch QHD+ (3,200x1,800) 180-degree display with 10-point multi-touch and 350-nit brightness carries over to this version, as does its three-pound weight and 55.5Wh battery, which is claimed to last for over seven hours on a single charge.
Pre-orders for the new ATIV Book 9 Plus have opened through the Samsung US website, with the Core i7 starting from a higher $1,800 instead of the $1,400 starting price of the Core i5 model. It will apparently appear on store shelves in early November.
