Payment plans on T-Mobile for new iPads, Nexus 7 revealed

T-Mobile has clarified its free 200MB LTE Internet access offer, advising that it is for all tablets that work with the carrier's network, not just the new iPads. The carrier also revealed that it will be expanding its existing smartphone trade-in program to include tablets, as well as offering tablets under its Uncarrier initiative.

The free 200MB 4G LTE data offer will be open to anyone with a tablet capable of connecting to T-Mobile, starting from November 1st. CMO Mike Sievert advised "You don't have to be a customer of ours at all. You don't have to have any kind of paying relationship with us at all" during an online press conference, continuing "We're just happy to give you 200MB of data for the life of that device as long as you own it." The website clarifies that the free data will be applied to anyone with an active Mobile Internet account on an eligible device, with users using up the entire allocation being downgraded to 2G speeds until the end of the billing cycle. Those requiring more data can buy daily, weekly, and monthly passes that provide extra allocations to the account.

Postpaid customers with a Simple Choice tablet plan will gain unlimited data in more than 100 countries at no extra charge, the same deal that it revealed for smartphones earlier this month.

The company's trade-in plan will, from November 1st, accept tablets. Any qualifying tablet taken to a T-Mobile store, even those with only Wi-Fi connectivity, can be used towards the cost of a new tablet through the carrier.

The iPad Air, through T-Mobile's installment plans, will cost $26.25 for 24 months with $0 up front for the 16GB model, while the 16GB iPad mini with Retina will cost $0 down and 24 payments of $22.08. The iPad Mini will sell for $17.91 over 14 months, also for the 16GB model, and also with no up-front cost.

In terms of Android devices, the Google Nexus 7 will be offered from November 20th for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $16, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will be 24 payments of $19 and no initial charge.

That is great! I have an iPad 3 on T-Mobile that costs $10/month on my Simple Plan for 500mb. Now I can save the $10/month.
