2013 HTC models to gain extra Google Drive storage
HTC has started to roll out the Android 4.3 update to the HTC One in Europe, along with the updated version of its overlay, Sense 5.5. The update will be rolling out over the next few weeks, and is accompanied by news that Google will be supplying free allocations of its Google Drive cloud storage to specific 2013 HTC models.
The latest version of Sense 5.5, upgrading from 5.4, allows users to deactivate BlinkFeed, reports The Verge. The Flipboard-style news feed can be turned off as a home screen replacement, following HTC research that thirty percent of users do not use it at all.
Sense 5.5 will also include a promotion from Google to add more data to their Google accounts, on top of the existing 15GB offered to each account. Google's support pages state that the HTC One Max will grant the user an extra 50GB of storage, while certain 2013 HTC devices including the HTC One will gain 25GB as part of the Sense update, though the HTC One Developer Edition will not gain the bonus due to an unlocked bootloader.
