Moto X, current Droid range to gain KitKat
Motorola has revealed a list of devices that will receive Android 4.4, also known as KitKat. A dedicated upgrades page on the Motorola website allows users to select a large number of combinations for carriers and devices, with the Moto X and the new Droid range on Verizon being shown as receiving Android KitKat in the future.
While the latest smartphones are more likely to get the upgrade, there are a few notable exceptions, according to Android Central. The RAZR M, HD, and MAXX HD will not receive updates, instead being left on the earlier versions of Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich, though some do list "Future plan coming soon" under their listing, suggesting that it may make the jump to a later version of Android in the future, possibly even KitKat.
Vice President of Product Management Punit Soni advised that the company will be keeping the page updated as it works to get later versions of Android on its device range.
