Google's Nexus devices get wireless charging accessory

Owners of Google's Nexus 4, and Nexus 5 smartphones and the Nexus 7 tablet can now get a specialized wireless charging device. The device appeared Tuesday in Google's Play Store, and it ships in 1 to 2 business days. The device provides wireless charging for each of the Nexus devices, though it only has room to charge one device at a time.

The Nexus Wireless Charger adheres to any surface and weighs 105 grams. It measures 60 x 60 x 12.5mm, and it comes with its own 9W 1.8 AC adaptor for use in the United States and Canada, as well as a Micro USB cable. It features a magnetic face that will properly align devices and automatically begin charging. The charger works on the Qi wireless charging standard, meaning that it should be compatible with other devices operating on that standard.

The Nexus Wireless Charger is available now from the Google Play Store for $50. Ground shipping for the device costs another $5.29.
