Opera adds tablet mode to Android app

Opera has updated its browser for Android with dedicated support for tablets. Rather than taking the approach of Coast, version 18 of the Chromium 31-based Android app continues to offer a similar experience as before, with the Discover, data-saving Off-Road and Speed Dial being updated to match the larger display size. Improvements to the search engine list, fixes to fullscreen video playback, and other stabilization and performance changes are also touted.

Dropbox for Android adds notifications feed, sharing to contacts, new payment options

The Android version of the Dropbox app has received a few changes, making it easier to share files from a smartphone. Photos and videos can be sent directly to contacts on a phone, while a new notifications feed provides quicker access to recently uploaded files. The app also introduces new payment options to upgrade to Pro accounts, including the ability to take a photograph of a credit or debit card to input the payment details instead of typing them in manually.
